Shariya Merab Archilovich was born in 1961 in the city of Sukhumi. In 1983 he graduated from the Kalinin state medical Institute with a degree in "General medicine".

From 1988 to 1990 residency at the Department of cardiology tsoliuv. In 1990 he entered the graduate school of the same Institute. In 1993, having defended the candidate's thesis on the topic "Clinical application of Mr tomography of the kidneys in their cystic lesions of tumors and hydronephrotic transformation of patients with hypertension", Merab Shariya was employed in the Department of cardiology. A. L. Myasnikov.

In 2009, Merab Shariya, defended his thesis for the degree of doctor of medical Sciences on the topic: "Magnetic resonance imaging in the diagnosis of tumors of the kidneys, urinary tract and prostate."  

Since 2010, leading researcher of the Department of tomography of the Institute of cardiology A. L. Myasnikov cardiology SMRC Ministry of health of Russia. At the same time Professor of the Department of radiology and radiotherapy at the Sechenov University .

The main directions of scientific work of MD Shariya A. Merab: magnetic resonance and computed tomography, cardiology. Engaged in teaching activities - lectures, seminars and workshops with residents, graduate students, doctors. The excellent health of the Russian Federation. He is a member of the Association of radiologists and therapists of Russia.

He is the author (co-author) of more than 190 scientific works, including 4 monographs and manuals for doctors, clinical recommendations. Under his leadership, 5 PhD theses were defended.

Since 2010 Merab Shariya is a member of the editorial Board of the Journal of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine.
