Alexander Grigorievich Osiev was born on April 6, 1962 in Kurgan.
In 1985 he graduated with honors from the medical faculty of the Tyumen state medical Institute. In 1985-1986 he studied at the internship in the specialty "Therapy" in the Tyumen regional clinical hospital.
Since 1986 he worked in the Tyumen branch of the all-Union cardiology center: first as a doctor of the Department of emergency cardiology, then as a researcher and later as a senior researcher. During his work at the Tyumen cardiology center, Alexander G. performed more than 300 coronary angiographic studies and up to 250 balloon angioplasty per year. Since 1992, Alexander Osiev-candidate, and since 2004-doctor of medical Sciences. In 2010 he was awarded the title of Professor.
Since 2002, Osiev has been working at the Novosibirsk research Institute of circulatory pathology named after academician E. N. Meshalkina. With his participation and under the scientific guidance in the structure of the Institute created the center of endovascular surgery and radiology. Today, the center performs all types of endovascular interventions. The greatest experience has been gained in the field of coronary angioplasty. Since 2002, the number of studies has increased 7 times, the number of medical interventions – more than 100 times. The head of the center performed more than 6 thousand endovascular interventions. According to the procedures of endovascular closure of heart defects, he became a leader not only in Russia but also in Europe.
In recent years, Professor Osiev mastered and widely implemented in the clinical practice of the center almost all advanced technologies used in leading European centers. On the basis of practical experience and scientific research Professor Osiev formed his own strategies and tactics of endovascular operations.
His research in a number of areas in the field of cardiovascular diseases is an invaluable contribution to the development of endovascular surgery and its formation as an independent medical discipline. The level of his scientific works and the results of their introduction into clinical practice are considered to be the subject of national pride of the country.
Alexander Osiev has 7 patents and 3 certificates on the priority of the invention. He published more than 100 scientific papers, he co-authored three monographs.
Professor Osiev takes an active part in the process of training of young professionals, conducts training cycles, master classes in the walls of leading medical institutions of Russia, CIS and foreign countries, constantly participates in various international scientific and practical forums and trainings, which allows to maintain contacts with leading foreign clinics and provide exchange of experience with colleagues.
Professor Osiev is a member of the editorial boards of the journals "Journal of radiology and nuclear medicine», "Pathology of blood circulation and cardiac surgery", "Diagnostic interventional radiology", "international journal of interventional Cardioangiology". He is one of the founders of the Siberian Association of interventional cardioangiologists, member of the Board of the all-Russian society of interventional Cardioangiology, member of the Board of the Russian society of cardiovascular surgeons, honorary member of the Russian scientific society of interventional radiologists and endovascular surgeons.
Professor Osiev was awarded the prize named after academician E. N. Meshalkina for outstanding contribution to the development of cardiovascular surgery, the development of new methods of diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases. He was awarded an Honorary diploma for his outstanding contribution to the development of the Institute of cardiac surgery in Siberia and the far East. By decision of the jury of the contest "Russian national Olympus" Alexander Osiev awarded the title of "Scientist of the year" and the personal order "for honor and valor".
