Nikolay V. Nudnov was born may 21, 1955, in Moscow.  From 1972 to 1978 he studied at the medical faculty in Pirogov Russian National
Research Medical University  (RNRMU).

From 1978 to 1980 - clinical resident in surgery of the Institute of surgery A.V. Vishnevsky Academy of medical Sciences of the USSR.   From 1980 to 1983-post-graduate student of the same Institute. In 1983 he defended his candidate's thesis, in 1999 – his doctoral dissertation. Until 1987 he worked in the Department of computed tomography of the Institute of surgery A. V. Vishnevsky as a Junior, and then a senior researcher

In 1987, he was called up for active military service in the KGB as head of the Department of computed tomography of the KGB. Later, in the same hospital, he continued his service as Deputy chief and chief of the hospital, combining administrative service with the post of chief radiologist of the FSB.

Since 2012 and currently work in RNCRR Russian Ministry of health as Deputy Director on scientific work, combining the work of a Professor of the Department of postgraduate education, including training residents and PhD students of scientific center of roentgenology and radiology.    

Since 2015, he is a Professor of the Department of radiology and radiology of RMAPO of the Ministry of health of Russia, and in 2017 – Professor of Oncology with a course of radiology of RUDN.

Is the General Secretary of the Russian Society of Radiology (RSR), member of the Executive Committee of the society, "Interventional radiology in Oncology" Deputy editor-in-chief of the journal "Medical imaging", member of the editorial Board of the journal " Journal of radiology and nuclear medicine " and "journal of Oncology", Deputy chief editor of the electronic journal "Herald RNTSRR", member of expert Council of Ministry of healthcare of the Russian Federation, member of Commission for awarding categories, the Ministry of health, a member of the Commission of Ministry of healthcare of the Russian Federation "the Best doctor of the year". Elected President of the Congress of RORR 2018 (November) and President of Radiology 2019 (may 2019).

As a scientific consultant he prepared 2 doctors of medical Sciences, supervisor-5 candidates of medical Sciences. I am the author of more than 150 publications and 9 monographs.

Honored doctor of the Russian Federation, Doctor of the highest category. He was awarded the diploma of the Ministry of health, medal "70 years of the USSR armed forces", badge of Honor for service in counterintelligence 3 degree, medal "850 years of Moscow", medal "for impeccable service" 3 and 2 degrees.
