
Igor E. Tyurin was born in 1960 in Leningrad. In 1983 he graduated from the Medical Faculty of the First Leningrad Medical Institute. Immediately after graduation he worked as a medical intern, and then-radiologist in the Radiology department of the Leningrad Regional Clinical Hospital. In 1986 he was admitted to the graduate school at the Department of Radiology of Military Medical Academy. After successfully defending his doctoral thesis on X-ray examination of the lungs in intensive care, in 1989, he left at the department as an assistant. In 1991 he was elected assistant professor and in 1997 - a professor of the department. In 1997 he defended his doctoral thesis on the topic: "Computed tomography in the diagnosis of pulmonary inflammatory diseases."
From 1998 to 2003 he was a professor of the department of radiation diagnosis and radiotherapy of Saint-Petersburg Medical Academy I.M.Mechnikova. At the same time he led the radiology department of the Leningrad Regional Clinical Hospital, in the same year served as the chief specialist-radiologist Leningrad Region Government. In 2001 he was appointed chief freelance specialist in radiation diagnosis fault the St. Petersburg. During this period, Igor E. Tyurin led the development of the "Concept of beam diagnostics service of St. Petersburg" and the program of technical reequipment of X-ray services of the city. Since 2001 is a member of the working group on preparation of the new order "On improving the service of radiation diagnosis" and "Concepts of radiation diagnosis service of the Russian Federation", approved by the decision of the board of the Ministry of Health of Russian Federation in 2003
Since 2003 Igor E. Tyurin works in Moscow, where he is elected to head the newly created department of beam diagnostics and Medical Physics of the Russian Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education. At the same time it is becoming a leading researcher of the Russian Cancer Research Center of N.N. Blokhin, is a versatile diagnostic advisory work. In 2015, the Department merged with the of the Department of Radiology of the Russian Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education.
I.E.Tyurin is a member of editorial boards of several medical journals, including "Medical imaging", "Nuclear Medicine and Radiation Safety", "Interventional diagnosis and treatment", "Radial diagnostics and therapy." Since 2008 is a member of the European Society of Radiology (ESR), a member of the North American Society of Radiology (RSNA), in 2014 he was elected a member of the European Society of Thoracic imaging of the Executive Committee (ESTI). Repeatedly he served as the local organizer ESOR schools in Russia.
In 2010, I.E.Tyurin organized and headed the national "Society of Thoracic Radiology", since 2011 is a member of the Presidium of the Russian Association of Radiologists, from 2016 he was elected vice-president of the society. He was president of the two congresses RAR, International Scientific Forum "Medical diagnostics", International Congress of Thoracic Radiology.
He is the author (co-author) of more than 250 scientific works, including 8 monographs and manuals for doctors, clinical guidelines. He has supervised 5 candidate and one doctoral dissertation.
In 2010, prof. I.E.Tyurin appointed chief freelance specialist beam diagnostician of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation. At the same time he is a member of the advisory council and the head of the relevant committee of Radiodiagnostics at the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Certification Commission for Health Ministry beam profile and instrumental diagnostics, Chairman of the RF Ministry of Health Ethics Committee in the field of medical devices.
Since 2014 I.E.Tyurin acting chief editor of the "Journal of radiology and nuclear medicine".
